Michael White, President
Michael has extensive experience developing web applications working in both project management and programming roles. Most recently, he was a co-founder of Knowledge Metrics, Inc., a provider of Learning Management Systems for corporate training. Prior to that, Michael was instrumental in the creation of various software products for the Thomson corporation including "PhysicsNow" and "BiologyNow". Michael currently serves as the President of the Lane County Chapter of the Software Association of Oregon (SAO), and also is a member of the SAO's Board of Directors.
Michael studied religion and philosophy at DePaul University and computer science at Penn State University. In his free time, Michael enjoys Oregon's many outdoor past times including gardening, running, hiking, camping, surfing, and back country skiing.
Paul Berger, Director of Business Development
Paul has enjoyed a thirty-year career in entrepreneurship and executive management. For the past fifteen years he has worked with emerging companies focused on software, research, and knowledge-based products and services. Over a recent five-year period he led an Internet-based market research company that provided patient satisfaction measurement and practice management services to the healthcare profession.
Armed with a degree in philosophy from California State University, Sonoma, Paul has performed a wide range of business development and operations tasks. He has consulted with many startup and emerging companies. He served four years on the Board of Directors for the Software Association of Oregon and was the founder of the Eugene Entrepreneur's Forum.
Paul is an avid gardener, caring for 700 square feet of raised beds and fruit trees at his Eugene home. He is a strong proponent of alternate ways of getting around, including public transportation, bicycle commuting, and plentiful use of his own two feet. He continuously competes with himself to set new records in months elapsed between gasoline purchases for his car.
Wayne Skipper, Creative Director
Wayne brings to the Rapid Path team his diverse technical, design and management experience. Wayne began his career in the US Navy working on Avionics Systems, but soon afterwards became interested in microprocessor architecture and silicon chip manufacturing. This led him to work for Texas Instruments, Applied Materials and eventually to Dell, where he played a key role on the Component Engineering team co-developing PC prototypes with Intel.
After leaving Dell to study classical art and architecture in Europe, Wayne decided to focus his energies on interface design. As a software developer, he has become an expert in web applications. He played a pivotal role in the development of Thomson's e-learning platform, iLrn, and is the primary architect behind Thomson's upcoming iLrn World Languages product line. He is currently the Lead Technical Consultant to the Thomson iLrn team.
Wayne is also experienced with industry standard project management techniques, preferring an approach which is a hybrid of the Rational Unified Process and eXtreme Programming. He is especially skilled at working with non-technical people to draft business requirements and turn those requirements into functional specifications.
